Jenerise Sponsors the Inaugural Taste the Lakes Half Marathon
Jenerise has announced its sponsorship of the inaugural Taste the Lakes Half Marathon, a new event launching this year on the grounds of Greystoke Castle in Cumbria. Every penny raised goes to Mac My Day, a charity supporting families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a genetic condition that progressively weakens muscle strength and function, primarily in boys, along with the research working to change outcomes for them.
The charity behind the race.
Mac My Day was founded by Rebecca Gibb MW for her son Mac, who lives with DMD, and has since grown to support other families facing the same diagnosis. The Taste the Lakes route runs thirteen miles through the private grounds of Greystoke Castle, with tasting stops from across the Lake District along the way and a medal at the finish.
A route close to home.
The course sits near Lorton, the Cumbrian village that is the ancestral home of the Jennings family, not far from where the old Jennings brewery stands. Jenerise co-founder Rachael Jennings will attend the event.
"This beautiful part of the UK is where our family's story starts, generations before creatine existed," said Jennings, Co-Founder and CBO of Jenerise. "Sponsoring a race that funds Duchenne research, on ground close to our roots, was an easy decision to make."
The science behind the sponsorship.
The commitment builds on Jenerise's earlier work exploring creatine beyond athletic performance. In a previous article, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy & Creatine, Rachael examined early clinical research, including trials from Louis et al. and Tarnopolsky et al., pointing to creatine's potential role in supporting bone density and muscle energy metabolism in ambulatory boys with DMD, a population that remains significantly understudied compared to mainstream creatine use.
UK-based supporters are invited to register and take part alongside the Jenerise team.
