Scaling Without Breaking Supply: Jenerise at CPHI Milan 2026
On Thursday 8 October, our Co-Founder and CEO, Steve Jennings, joined a panel at CPHI Milan 2026 titled “Nutraceuticals: Scaling Without Breaking Supply”. Held in the Supply & Formulation Excellence Theatre, the session was moderated by Marie Quettier of Biotium Ventures and Women in Nutraceuticals. Steve was joined by Amedeo Chiappini of HubMed Technologies, Cynthia Hunefeld of Evithé Biotechnology, and Pawel of Remedy.
The panel brought together five nationalities and a range of specialisms around one shared question: how can the nutraceutical industry keep growing without compromising the quality consumers expect? Here is where we think the conversation matters most for brands and manufacturers.
Sourcing: resilience over convenience
Rising tariff pressure has made single-source dependency a harder risk to justify. Diversifying ingredient sourcing is no longer a contingency plan; it is a core part of commercial planning. For brands, the question has shifted from “who is cheapest?” to “who can still deliver, consistently, when conditions change?”
This is a familiar problem for us. Creatine is a high-volume, quality-sensitive ingredient, and our B2B customers rely on dependable supply as much as on specification. The main takeaway from the panel was to plan ahead, have a backup plan, and build trusted distribution networks.
Regulation: a fragmented picture
Operating across borders now means navigating regulatory frameworks that differ, sometimes significantly, from one market to the next. Scaling internationally therefore demands more than extra capacity. It requires documentation, traceability and compliance processes that stand up in every market a product enters. Partners who treat this as a foundation rather than an afterthought make life considerably easier for their customers.
Redefining “proof”
The third theme, what counts as proof for the next generation of functional health products, may prove the most significant. Retailers, regulators and consumers are all asking for stronger evidence, and a persuasive story is no longer enough. Credible claims rest on well-characterised ingredients, transparent testing and a clear chain of custody from raw material to finished product.
Why this resonates with Jenerise
Steve brings more than three decades of experience to these questions. A former professional cyclist, he launched Ergomax C150 in 1992, the world’s first creatine monohydrate brand, helping to establish a category that remains foundational to sports nutrition. That experience shapes how we work today: we believe a product’s reputation is only as strong as the supply and quality behind it.
Today, Jenerise leads the development of the Jenerise Cr.01™ brand and continues to expand our international B2B creatine distribution network. This means we are able to scale sustainably.
Looking ahead
We would like to thank Informa and the CPHI team for hosting such a thoughtful session, Women in Nutraceuticals, and our fellow panellists for a genuinely useful exchange of views. Rachael Jennings, our Co-Founder, was also on site throughout the event, meeting existing and prospective brand partners.
If you were unable to catch the session, or would like to discuss supply, sourcing or quality for your own creatine programme, we would be glad to hear from you. Please email rachael@jenerise.com.
